The CD 4040 is a 12 stage binary counter.
Each output divides the frequency delivered to the clock-line, by 2.
The maximum division is 4096. The output goes high after 2048 cycles and then low after another 2048 cycles.When the Reset line is taken HIGH, all outputs become LOW.
